Chris Rogers
Chris Rogers is
the chief graphic designer for Kate Publishing. Chris hails from Alabama by way of Northern Virginia and is finishing her
MFA thesis in Graphic Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design. While at SCAD she refined her formal skills while
expanding her theoretical knowledge of design practice. She received her BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Graphic
Design from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Before enrolling in SCAD's graduate
program, Chris worked in the D.C. metro area in advertising with an internship at R.O.I. Advertising, a studio position at
Merrick-Towle Communications and freelancing through One Design LLC. This past summer she worked in a graphic design internship
at Cartoon Network. She also recently completed a teaching internship at SCAD with Professor Mary Ann Casem and is a member
of the AIGA, S{o}TA and Type Directors Club.
Chris is particularly interested in subjects that feed
her insatiable intellectual and aesthetic curiosity. She had an early interest in science––geology, cartography,
astronomy, and physics––and believes that every discipline can provide an opportunity to learn and inspire design
practice. She is further inspired by the pedagogical work of John Dewey and László Moholy-Nagy and seeks to
advance progressive education theory.
